Our history
An Independent Baptist church in Entebbe, begun by Timothy and Jeannette Joyner in February 2007.

Timothy Neal Joyner
1958–2021
“Here am I; send me.”Isaiah 6:8
Timothy trusted Christ as his Saviour in 1978. He prepared for ministry at Bob Jones University and married Jeannette on 5 June 1987.
In November 1988, Timothy and Jeannette returned to Kenya, where they established Faith Baptist Church in Ongata Rongai. That ministry later began Mars Hill Baptist Church in Kiserian.
In 2005, Timothy and Jeannette moved to Entebbe. Following the registration of Open Door Baptist Missions, they began Open Door Baptist Church in Lyamutundwe in February 2007.
Timothy was laid to rest in Kanyandegeya, Fort Portal, on 22 June 2021. We remember his life and service to the Lord.

A congregation in Entebbe
Open Door Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist church in Lyamutundwe, Entebbe, Uganda.
We gather to worship, study the Scriptures, and encourage one another in following Jesus Christ. The Bible is our authority in faith and practise.
Our congregation worships in both Luganda and English. Adults and children have dedicated Bible study time on Sundays, and we gather again for worship during the week.
