Fact #1
We have sinned against a holy God
God is holy, and all of us have broken His law. His commandments reveal our guilt; our own goodness cannot make us righteous before Him.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
[Romans 3:23] · KJV
Fact #2
Sin brings death and separation from God
Sin has a penalty: death, including eternal separation from God. We need a Saviour who can rescue us from that judgement.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
[Romans 6:23] · KJV
Fact #3
Realize that you must repent of your sin
Here, repentance means changing your mind about the sin of unbelief. We may once have trusted our own way of getting to heaven. The Bible teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. We turn from unbelief and reliance on our own way to trusting Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again. Eternal life is God’s gift, received by faith in Him.
“Of sin, because they believe not on me;”
[John 16:9] · KJV
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
[John 14:6] · KJV
Fact #4
Jesus Christ died and rose again for us
Jesus lived without sin, died in our place, and rose from the dead. His sacrifice and resurrection provide forgiveness and the hope of eternal life.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
[1 Corinthians 15:3–4] · KJV
Fact #5
Receive God’s gift by faith in Christ
Salvation is received, never earned. Trust Jesus Christ rather than your works or religious efforts. God gives eternal life and peace with Him to those who believe.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
[Ephesians 2:8–9] · KJV
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
[Romans 10:13] · KJV
Fact #6
Once Saved, Always Saved
Once you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, you cannot lose your salvation. God cannot lie, and His promise of eternal life is certain. When He saves you, He saves you forever. Jesus promises that you will never perish and that no one can take you out of His hand.
“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;”
[Titus 1:2] · KJV
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
[John 10:28] · KJV
